This track has become part of my theatre sound design tool kit. Originally created for Boi Boi is Dead by Zodwa Nyoni where I was working closely with composer Michael Henry who gave me freedom to create this kind of thing. It's one of those pieces that can hold many moods depending on context. Designed not to get in the way of speech and to give space to actors to move freely in it finding their own emotional nuances. It can be light and hopeful, like the dawn of a new day and new young love, it can be holding of a memory, tender carrying a tinge of restrained grief (which was the context for this play), it is also fragile.
