about

manifesto : provocation

tracks from dark days between years looking back & forward, a creative slack tide, waiting, both change & no change, yet uncompromising

Music written towards the end of 2022 in a moment of crises and self doubt, both personal & creative. In some ways the two are tied together. I'm late in writing this, as void has yet to pass. So I struggle. I listen. In a hotel room in Manchester shifting oscillators searching between frequencies for sound design for a theatre production staring out of the window at a neon sign transfixed, skin burning from anti convulsants to calm overactive synapses 'beneath appearances'. 'boundary' between water & earth between the years the slack tide between being and becoming 'edge winder' or just another cold wet windy day on the Cornish coast with a microphone. I'm a cellist. So I pick up the guitar, ramp up the distortion, the burning churning creative energy beyond my reach like another sun eclipsed on another dark world 'halcyon fire'
